Vladimir Morozov Edges Past 100 IM World Record At 2016 FINA World Cup Paris

Vladimir Morozov of Russia succeeded in edging past the World Record in the men’s 100-meter Individual Medley during day one of the 2016 FINA World Cup stop in Paris/Chartres.

Morozov posted a time of 50.60 to slide past the previous World Record of 50.66, set in 2014 in Doha by Germany’s Markus Diebler. While Diebler had a slightly stronger back half to his 100 IM World Record, Morozov’s strong front half gave him the jumpstart he needed.
