Marquette’s Sam Williams broke a 24-year-old record as the Marquette boys won the 2016 Michigan Upper Peninsula State High School Championships. Â Meanwhile, the Gladstone girls also picked up the meet trophy.

Gladstone picked up the Michigan UP title with 281 points. Â Houghton (244), Marquette (241), Kingsford (175) and Rudyard (141) comprised the rest of the top five.
