Bella Smits has given her verbal commitment to swim at the University of North Dakota beginning with the 2017-2018 season.
Smits told Swimming World about her decision,
“I am thrilled to announce my commitment to swim and study at the University of North Dakota.  I chose UND because of the close knit team, academics, and the cozy feel of the campus.  The coaches there are amazing and are so invested in their swimmers.  Head Coach Chris will be my Sprint coach and I feel like he will push me to be the best athlete, student and swimmer that I can be.  Go Hawks!â€
The Andover high School senior is in the National Honor Society and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
